When to use HDRI domes
- Vehicle or product renders that need to sit convincingly on a real ground surface, using the dome for both lighting and ground reflection.
- Scenes where several products or car angles need to match one consistent location, since a dome location often has multiple numbered variants.
- Renders needing a free sample first: one dome in this set (loc00184-22) is available at no cost to test workflow before buying a full-resolution file.
Rendering notes
Because a dome captures the ground plane as well as the sky, it works as a single source for both environment lighting and a ground-level reflection map, which is different from an Outdoor sky file that assumes the ground is modeled separately. Some dome variants are offered with an optional zDepth pass and some without, which matters if a 3D object needs to be composited behind foreground elements in the panorama rather than only placed on top of it.
